If you enjoy thrillers which, make you think beyond the obvious, are laced with intrigue, provide problems to solve, and have more twists than a mountain road, then you’ve come to the right place.
Although my first novel - “The Pyramid Legacy” - is set in 2025, and has certain science fiction themes embedded, it is primarily aimed at readers who enjoy an escapism action-based thriller, with plenty of suspense and mysterious events thrown in.
I am currently writing the sequel to “The Pyramid Legacy”, titled - “Operation Stonehenge” - which evolved as a result of the research I did for the first book. I stumbled across TWO very significant links between the Great Pyramid of Giza and Stonehenge. At first I just put it down to an odd coincidence, but the more research I did, the more I realised there was a lot more to it than I could have possibly imagined. This is a story which had to be told. I didn’t want to write a text book, I wanted these ‘facts’ I had discovered to be seated at the heart of an exciting novel, or two.
Before becoming an author, I initially trained as an aircraft engineer in the Royal Air Force, and maintained Vulcan bombers for a number of years. That led to a few years working in the automotive retail sector. I know, not a natural career progression.
Currently I work as a freelance international trainer, in the area of business improvement, and my work, over the last 17 years, has taken me to over 30 countries around the globe. Some of this work I want to share within my blog, particularly the marketing aspects. Although many of the articles I will be adding over the coming months will be fairly generic, my key focus will be to provide additional marketing/promotional ideas for fellow authors.
The initial inspiration for “The Pyramid Legacy” came when Egyptian authorities discovered a secret door inside the Great Pyramid of Giza. Although nothing was actually found on that occasion, other than another door being behind the first door, it triggered a 'what if?' question, and from there the story started to develop. A trip to Egypt in 2009 allowed me the opportunity to gain a closer look at the mighty Giza Pyramids, and most importantly, access to the inner workings of Khufu’s pyramid. The quality of the engineering, particularly inside, is nothing short of sensational, and made me question whether or not ancient Egyptians really did have the skills, knowledge and tools to construct such a huge structure. This question, and many others, are raised within the novel.
I live in a very peaceful setting, with my wife Judy, in the heart of rural Norfolk, England, which I believe is an amazing place for getting in the right mood for writing.
“The Pyramid Legacy” was initially published as an e-book, but is now available as a paperback. I hope you enjoy looking around the site. More information and articles will be added over the coming months, so do please pop back from time to time.
Finally, I also have a blog titled ‘Marketing Tips 4 Authors’.
